Bondi Pizza – Top Ryde

Vanessa: Shopping centre eateries seem to have really stepped it up a notch of late and Top Ryde is a clear example of this.  Bondi Pizza, a resident of the piazza quarter at Top Ryde, represents the brand’s vision for a relaxed, fun and vibrant dining experience.  Having heard of the chain’s ‘thin pressed pizza’, Bianca and I, along with ‘Wanita’ (Bianca’s mother/my aunt), made a bee line to check it out.

The restaurant is large and open with a modern, casual atmosphere.  The menu offers a wide range of starters, mains and an abundance of pizza varieties all served up on the thin base.

We started of the evening with a serve of tomato & mozzarella bruschetta ($9.95) and arancini ($9.95).  The bruschetta was loaded with ripe, fresh tomatoes, spanish onion and a thick, sweet balsamic glaze.

The arancini consisted of four creamy, cheesy balls of goodness with a crunchy exterior. Thumbs up all round for these!

The pizza offering is extensive and almost every possible combination has been considered.  We opted for the classic pepperoni pizza ($23.95) and the prosciutto and bocconcini pizza ($24.95) from the signature range.  The thin pressed base is light and crispy which means you don’t fill up on it so easily.

Bianca and I shared the pizzas between us and verdict was that pepperoni pizza still reigns supreme with thin slices of pepperoni, cheesy base and fresh tomato. Although we were a bit confused by the choice of herb on the pizza being mint as opposed to basil which would compliment the flavors much better.

Wanita enjoyed the char grilled lamb salad ($24.95) which was a generous combination of rocket, tomatoes, olives, cucumber, feta, avocado, beetroot and white balsamic vinaigrette topped with perfectly medium rare lamb slices.

Rounding off the evening we indulged in the dessert share plate ($22.95). A perfect way to sample a range of options including oven-baked swirls, chocolate brownie, apple crumble pizzette and Belgian chocolate fruit fondue. The three of us couldn’t get through it all!

Bondi Pizza is a great addition to the shopping centre and perfect choice for locals who want to grab a well-priced meal in a casual setting.

Enjoy!

    1. The guy at the table over dropped his ridiculous chocolate drink on the floor near us and splattered it all over us.. so we smelt delightful but left dirty. You can never go wrong with Pepperoni Cassie 🙂
