Alex: This quaint little cafe that humbly sits off the corner of Great North Road, exudes rustic Italian style effortlessly. From the moment you walk in the door it’s as if you’ve just entered your Nonni’s house, even down to the coffee cups and cutlery. My friend and I have been trying to find a good place that does Granita and Brioche for years, ever since our trip to Italy in 2011 and finally our prayers had been answered. The staff are friendly and are always floating around to help you out but are sometimes a little confused by our requests (I asked for a fork when I was eating my Arancini to which the waiter said “You eat it with your hands!” something my Nonno would say I’m sure!
The Granita choices are traditional, fun and taste just as good as the ones you find in the piazza’s in Italy! Something I was pleasantly surprised by. My friend got the Fragola Granita which was sweet but not too over the top, but as soon as I saw the special ‘Nutella’ nestled at the bottom of the list I was sold. “Would you like Panna or Brioche?” Sweet Bread? I think so! Brioche it is. It was incredibly soft and tasty and went almost too well with my Nutella Granita. I unfortunately, couldn’t finish it.

Cremeria De Luca has now become a hotspot for me and my friends. So on another one of our visits, as we entered and saw the heavenly “granita” cart to our left, my eyes were instead drawn to the picture of the Arancini saying ‘Lunch Special!’ on the counter. While I did think $8 was a bit steep for an Arancini, I must admit, it was probably one of the best Arancini’s I’ve had in a while! The napoletana was rich and tasty and the colour of the pea’s contrasted so well with the bright red sauce. Being a photographer, I tend to notice beautiful looking food!
So, while you’re driving around the Inner West, looking for a good place to have a coffee, take note, come here, relax and enjoy an Italian Hot Chocolate or Granita. I hear they now have a Nutella Arancini…. I’m done! See you soon Cremeria
Until next time

Your title post reminds me of a nice Italian ice cream advertisment, “Sono Luca e la Cremeria?” ☺ nice memories
Swooon! Thanks for the heads up next time I’m in the area 😀
Wow! This blog looks just like my old one! It’s on a totally different subject but it has
pretty much the same page layout and design. Great choice
of colors!
