John Belvedere, Parramatta.

Bianca: My burger quota has been a little on the miserable side these days! But a recent visit to John Belvedere bolstered the burger stats for 2019.

Located in the heart of Parramatta’s dining district on Church st, they do the standard burgs with a few stand-out options.

Definitely spring for the Loaded Fries -w/ cracked bacon & truffle mayonnaise $9. I mean, everyone knows fries are the way to the heart!

The Truffle Chicken Burger – w/ marinated chicken thigh, bacon, cheese, tomato, lettuce & truffle sauce $14 sounded great on paper and was a pretty reliable fried chicken burger. But the truffle flavour was really neither here nor there. Big points for the crispy outer coating, whilst still remaining very juicy!

And for a man-sized appetite, the Double Cheese Burger -w/ 2 x 150g beef patties, double cheese, pickles, onion and tomato sauce $15 + bacon $2. Excellent char on the beef patties but perhaps a touch overcooked. The bacon was crispy and the cheese… in abundance!

We did order a side of Chicken Wings but they were out when we visited. Opting instead for the Slow Cooked Beef Ribs in a Smokey BBQ sauce – half rack with chips $26. Despite initial reservations about a burger joint churning out a decent rack of ribs, these were pretty tasty, tender and juicy!

John Belvedere is a pretty strong option when you’re on the hunt for burgers in Parramatta!
