Alex: Since my uni has made a massive move from North Sydney to the heart of Parramatta it has been my goal to find some really great places for a decent breakfast/lunch/brunch (whatever you want to call it) stop. A job for ‘Urban List’ also gave me the opportunity to go out and take some photos at Parramatta’s most desirable breakfast spots.
While Big Tree House Cafe is not in Parramatta it’s not that far off, so making the trip out here was definitely a great decision.
The fit out of the cafe is appealing with light muted colours, as well as the added allure of natural light (the cause of every photographer’s wet dream).
Using Campos coffee, the quality is top-notch and it’s no wonder as to why a lot of the locals make this their regular haunt.
I was requested to try their most popular dish, which was the Corn Fritters, poached eggs, bacon, avocado & tomato relish $15. A wonderfully presented dish that tasted just as superb. It was interesting to note that there was a lot of Asian spices and flavours coming through from the Corn fritters. Something that I have never experienced in a breakfast before so it was a welcomed treat. The egg oozed as I cut into it and the tomato relish had a hint of spice, so all in all a fantastic dish. It’s no wonder this is one of their signatures.
So if you live in the area or can be bothered to make the trek like I did then I highly recommend you do so!
Until next time!

Yum, both look delicious! I have a sweet spot (ha!) for the sweet option though – the French toast looks great!
