(invite) Bianca: Back in 2014 when I was a fresh-faced baby blogger I visited TOCO Fresh TOCO I had a shitty camera, I couldn’t write, I had no idea about natural lighting… It was a disaster. I don’t really remember much about the food, it was your typical cafe serving typical cafe food.
Toco is now under new management and the menu is pretty vast so there is something to please most people.
With gal pal Felicitations we started with a Soy Capp $4.5 (The Grounds of Alexandria coffee).
The Immune $7 is choc-full of all the good stuff. Carrot, orange, beetroot & ginger.
If you’re after something a little more fruity. Tropical Sunset $9.5 might be up your alley. With mango, pineapple, coconut water & ice-cream.
I wanted to love the Toco Pancakes $18 but they fell a little flat for me. Whilst the pancakes were fluffy and light they were almost crumbly, the texture was a little odd. The flavour was great and I liked the addition of the sharp berries but this dish was missing syrup in a big big way!
The Dirty Bird -w/ crispy buttermilk chicken, pickles, waffles, maple syrup $18 ticks all the boxes. Crispy, moist, salty and sweet! This was probably our favourite dish!
I instantly zeroed in on the Hangover -w/ 2 fried eggs, bacon, hash brown, avo, lettuce, chipotle mayo $14. If you’re after a behemoth this will satisfy! Anything with a hash brown gets my tick.
